Tyler McDougal
Social Media Manager
Hi, I’m Tyler! I recently relocated from Utah to Grand Junction and joined the River City Sportplex team as the Social Media Manager. I get to combine my love for creativity, content, and storytelling to showcase everything happening here.
I’ve always been someone who needs a creative outlet, so naturally, I’m happiest when I’m creating. Outside of the rink, I’m a nail artist and spend a lot of my time painting nails, creating murals, making art pieces, and finding random new creative projects I’ve convinced myself I needed to start.
I love bringing ideas to life and making things a little more fun, unique, and visually interesting. I’m so excited to be part of the River City Sportplex team and can’t wait to share all the excitement, energy, and memories we’re creating here!
Jon Wallace
Photographer / Digital Marketing
Jon, aka Wally, was born and raised in Scottsdale, Arizona, where he grew up playing ice hockey for the Jr. Coyotes, DYHA Firebirds, and Mission Arizona organizations before moving to Grand Junction to play at Colorado Mesa University beginning in 2008 where he later graduated with a degree in kinesiology.
Following his playing career, Wally spent years capturing speed and style across the motorcycle industry, building a career in marketing and photography spaces working for brands like Deus Ex Machina, KTM and Ducati USA. When he’s not at the rink or on the ice you can find him at one of the many local world class riding trails, out on the links, or any one of the other countless outdoor amenities Grand Junction has to offer!
Today, Wally combines his passion for hockey with his expertise in photography and digital marketing, helping tell the River Hawks story and strengthen the connection between the team and the Western Colorado community.

Gage Kleager
Broadcast Manager
Gage Kleager runs live broadcast production for River City Sports Plex, sending every game out to NAHLTV and local television. He’s driven by a simple philosophy — no box, no limits — and brings that mindset to every broadcast, constantly pushing to make the production sharper, more creative, and more ambitious than the last. He skipped the traditional college path to get hands-on experience early, working across trades and technical fields before landing in broadcast, where his creative streak actually gets to run wild. He’s also a longtime volunteer with Special Olympics Colorado, taking on a leadership role at the State Games every summer since 2020.
