Dustin Timm

Head Coach

Dustin Timm brings over a decade of coaching and leadership experience to the Grand Junction River Hawks, with a proven track record of developing players at multiple levels of the game. He spent four seasons coaching in the Western States Hockey League and three seasons on staff in the United States Hockey League with the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders, one of the top junior hockey programs in the country. In addition to his junior hockey background, Dustin has served the past seven years as both a Coach and the Executive Director of the RoughRiders Hockey Club, where he has played a key role in building a development-driven culture, rooted in character, skill, and hockey IQ.

Dustin is an alumnus of Nichols College, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in Sport Management and competed in NCAA Division III hockey. He later completed his Master of Science in Recreation and Sports Science from Ohio University, specializing in Player Development and Teaching the Game for Understanding—an approach that emphasizes decision-making, creativity, and tactical awareness on the ice.

Off the ice, Dustin is supported by his loving wife, Martina Kleinova, and their energetic twin son and daughter, and two puppies Winston and Roan. His passion for teaching, leadership, and long-term player development—combined with the support of his family—make him an asset to the River Hawks organization.
