The River Hawks generated 30 shots on goal and capitalized on their opportunities throughout the afternoon. Defensively, Grand Junction limited Pueblo to just one goal despite the Peppers registering 31 shots.
Special teams also contributed to the victory, with the River Hawks successfully killing all three Pueblo power-play opportunities.

Weekend Takeaways
Even-Strength Offense Leads the Way
One of the biggest positives from the weekend was Grand Junction’s ability to generate offense at even strength. Nine of the team’s ten goals came outside the power play, highlighted by Sunday’s six-goal outburst.
The River Hawks also received contributions from multiple players, with Lincoln Martin and Adam Konowalchuk leading Sunday’s offensive charge.
Special Teams Remain an Area of Focus
While Grand Junction found success at even strength, the power play struggled to generate consistent results, converting just once on 13 opportunities (7.7%) over the three games.
The penalty kill was more effective, successfully defending 12 of 14 Pueblo power plays (85.7%).
Improving power-play execution and capitalizing on special-teams opportunities will be important as the River Hawks continue navigating a competitive Mountain Division schedule.
Responding to Adversity
Perhaps the most encouraging takeaway from the weekend was Grand Junction’s response following Saturday’s loss.
After struggling to generate offense in the middle game of the series, the River Hawks returned Sunday with renewed energy, improved execution, and a decisive victory.
That ability to reset and respond will be critical throughout the season as the team continues to build consistency in its play.
