NAHL River Hawks Youth Hockey Camp
Build Skills. Have Fun. Get Better.
Grand Junction River Hawks are bringing an exciting, high-energy youth hockey camp to the ice! Designed to challenge players, build confidence, and accelerate individual development, this camp will focus on the fundamental skills that make a difference every time a player steps on the ice.
Led by the Grand Junction River Hawks coaching staff, alongside local youth hockey coaches, players will experience fast-paced, high-repetition drills and professional-level instruction designed to maximize development.
Our camp will emphasize four key areas of individual skill development:
- Power Skating: Improve speed, explosiveness, edge control, agility, and overall skating efficiency.
- Puck Control: Develop better hands, puck protection, creativity, and confidence with the puck.
- Shooting: Improve shooting technique, accuracy, quick releases, and the ability to score in game situations.
- Passing: Sharpen passing accuracy, puck movement, receiving skills, and execution at higher speeds.
Our philosophy is simple: More Reps. More Development. More Confidence. Every session is designed to keep players moving, competing, and improving while creating a positive, challenging, and FUN environment.
Whether you’re looking to sharpen your fundamentals or take the next step in your hockey development, this camp is an opportunity to train like a River Hawk, compete with purpose, and elevate your game!

Coaching Staff
Grand Junction River Hawks are excited to bring a high-energy, development-focused youth hockey camp to the Grand Valley, led by the coaching staff of the defending Mountain Division Champions!
The camp will be directed by the River Hawks’ experienced coaching staff, led by Head Coach Dustin Timm, alongside the team’s assistant coaches and player development staff. The River Hawks coaching staff brings a wealth of experience in junior hockey, player development, skill instruction, and preparing athletes to compete at higher levels of the game.
The River Hawks coaching philosophy is built around developing complete hockey players through strong fundamentals, attention to detail, competitive habits, and a commitment to continuous improvement. Camp participants will experience the same principles and teaching methods used to develop players at the Tier II junior hockey level.
A Collaborative Approach to Youth Development
In addition to the River Hawks coaching staff, the camp will feature local youth hockey coaches from the Grand Valley, creating a collaborative coaching environment that combines junior hockey expertise with the knowledge and experience of coaches who work with our local players throughout the season.
All on-ice instruction, practice planning, and skill development sessions will be led and directed by the Grand Junction River Hawks coaching staff, with local youth coaches assisting in instruction, demonstrations, and individual player feedback.
Our goal is simple: provide young hockey players with a fun, challenging, and positive learning environment that helps them build confidence, improve their skills, and develop the habits necessary to succeed both on and off the ice.
