River Hawks Fans,

The River Hawks are on a roll! Check out last weekend’s highlights and get set for another big home game this Friday.

The Grand Junction River Hawks closed out a physically and emotionally demanding three games in three nights stretch by earning two wins, including a statement road victory in Ogden and a dominant performance back home at River City Sportplex.

Thursday Night - January 15, 2026: River Hawks 2 | Ogden Mustangs 1

The River Hawks opened the weekend with a statement road win, handing Ogden their first home loss of the season in a playoff-style 2–1 battle.

Against an opponent that has consistently limited chances, Grand Junction leaned into its identity - structured defense, strong goaltending, and physical play away from the puck. Head-to-Head Context vs. Ogden for the Season:

  • Goals For / Game: 1.57

  • Goals Against / Game: 2.43

  • Shots Against / Game: 36.71

  • Penalty Kill: 90.3% (elite discipline under pressure)

Friday Night - January 16, 2026: River Hawks 1 | Ogden Mustangs 2

Less than 24 hours later, the River Hawks returned for a second game in Ogden. Even though the final score flipped, our River Hawks continued to compete and generated offense despite facing one of the league’s most difficult road environments.

Ogden games have consistently been low-margin, grind-it-out matchups, and Friday night was no exception. The River Hawks proved again they can match intensity and structure against elite competition on the road.

Saturday Night - January 17, 2026: River Hawks 7 | Casper Warbirds 1

Back home, the River Hawks turned a strong road trip into momentum, delivering a dominant 7-1 victory over Casper.

The game was never in doubt, as Grand Junction controlled pace, rolled four lines, and capitalized on chances early.Head-to-Head vs. Casper:

  • Goals For/Game: 7.50

  • Goals Against/Game: 0.50

  • Power Play: 25.0%

  • Penalty Kill: 100%

The River Hawks established separation early and never let Casper find rhythm, showcasing depth, discipline, and offensive execution.

Three games in three nights demanded structure, discipline, and emotional control - and the River Hawks delivered. Competing toe-to-toe with Ogden on the road and finishing with a dominant home win over Casper highlights a team continuing to set the standard and play like young pros.

The weekend reinforced a clear identity:competitive and resilient on the road, dangerous and decisive at home.

It’s the next chapter of the River Hawks–Spud Kings rivalry. THIS WEEK at River City Sportplex.

Postseason implications on the line. Expect high pace, high intensity, and a crowd that makes the difference.Circle the date. Bring the energy. Rivalry hockey is back!
