River Hawks Fans, 

Check out last Saturday's highlights against the Utah Outliers and get set for a BIG 3-GAME weekend coming up! 

The Grand Junction River Hawks delivered a statement win on the road Saturday night, shutting out the Utah Outliers 2–0 at Black Rock Event Center in a game that had all the intensity and edge of playoff hockey.

With both teams jockeying for position in the Mountain Division playoff race, the matchup quickly turned physical and emotional. Every inch of ice was contested, bodies were finished, and momentum swung on shifts rather than stretches of play. The River Hawks embraced that environment, playing composed, connected, and relentless hockey from puck drop to final horn.

Grand Junction opened the scoring midway through the first period when #92 William Cronberger buried a five-on-five goal at 15:01, finishing a strong sequence set up by #21 Reid Taylor and #4 Gwanghyeon Lee. Just over two minutes later, the RiverHawks doubled the lead on the power play as #3 Ryul Kwon struck at 2:24, with assists from #44 Gabriel Iervella and #92 Will Cronberger, giving Grand Junction early control of the game.

​From there, it became a battle of discipline, toughness, and detail. The River Hawks weathered Utah’s push, matched their physicality, and stayed committed defensively, blocking shots, winning puck battles, and limiting second chances. The penalty kill and five-man defensive structure stood tall in the face of a chippy, high-emotion game.

Between the pipes, #33 Viggo Boston was outstanding, turning aside every shot he faced to earn the shutout (22 shots). His calm presence and timely saves allowed the River Hawks to manage the game with confidence as tensions rose late.
